No, not THAT sort of stuff, motorcycling stuff. Let’s see.
Gresini team announced earlier in the week that, along with the RCV Honda it will be running for Alvaro Bautista (WITHOUT the direct factory support that Simo enjoyed, incidentally), It will also run a CRT bike (Suter frame/Honda engine) for current Moto2 rider Michele Pirro. They have also announced that they will be “doing an Aspar” and running in all three classes in 2012, signing 15 year old sensation Niccolo Antonelli to ride a Moto3 bike for the team. He is the reigning Italian 125cc Champion.
CBC Corse Team announced that they will be running Maverick Vinales’s older cousin, Isaac, in their Moto3 squad next year.
Casey Stoner has raised some hackles (again) by saying in an interview that all MotoGp riders hate each other and that, while they appear to be friendly towards each other on TV, it’s all a front. Trust young Casey to again tell it like it REALLY is not like the sanforized, sanitized, harmless twaddle that the media people would like him to say.
Trouble is till brewing in Texas with accusations and counter claims flying back and forth over the proposed Austin track. Typical of the arrogant attitude that Americans bring to most of the things they do, the owners of the track tendered a counter offer (much lower than that which Bernie as was asking) and had it promptly rejected. Bernie has now said that he’ll wait, but I wouldn’t expect him to be waiting too long. With plenty of other countries desperate (why?) to run an F1 event, he’s got an embarrassment of choices if the American bid falls over. If the whole project founders, and it’s looking pretty ropey at the moment, motorsport in the USA is going to take big hit.
