celebrating 40+ years of motorcycling

A sobering day

This afternoon the Wollongong motorcycling fraternity received some dreadful news. Maxie Pinch, an iconic member of our close-knit group here, was killed in a collision with a truck while out on a recreational ride this morning.

Max was a tiny little guy who looked barely able to handle a bicycle, but he could out-ride the most of us. He had been a graded road racer in a previous life and many a young player found out to their chagrin that the little guy could ride rings around him, whether it was on Maxie’s BMW single, his little CBR250RR or his immaculate 50th Anniversary yellow R1.

The local motorcycling fraternity has lost a shining light. RIP Max Pinch.
