My son-in-law and I did a Clyde ride today. We set out at 0700, out to Jamberoo and Kiama and then down the highway to Nowra (and not a car between Gerringong and Berry – an unheard-of situation). We stopped at Milton for a famous breakfast pie at the Rainbow Pie Shop..
and then headed down to Bateman’s Bay. Right at the roundabout and up the mountain. A pretty good run, actually; certainly put the smile on the dial. At the end of the run we pulled over and decided what to do next and the vote was to complete the loop, so it was on to Braidwood, Tarago, Lake Bathurst, and Wakefield Park.
Leith hadn’t been there before so we pulled in, only to find that the Porsche Ownsers Club of Sydney was having a track day. Millions of dollars worth of Stuttgart engineering was being unmercifully hammered around the track…
..and lots more money was sitting in the pits..
Not quite sure what breed of Porsche this is, but it looked damn expensive anyway.
Then it was on to Goulburn, Marulan and off the highway to Tallong, Wingello and Bundanoon, ending up at TFRPS (there wasn’t anyone there that we knew so we continued on home) getting home about 1430.
Great weather, deserted roads and a great ride. Can it get much better than that?
