As expected, Jorge Lorenzo won the Portugese Grand Prix overnight, his 3rd straight win at Estoril.
Of more interest was the announced rider changes for 2011. Randy de Puniet moves to PRAMAC to accompany Capirossi (a surprise to me as I believed that they were only going to run 1 bike next year – they have been “leaned-on”, I reckon.)
Taking RdP’s place at LCR will be Moto2 champ, Tony Elias. In Moto2, the Tech III team have announced the signing of both Bradley Smith and Mike de Meglio to their Moto2 squad for 2011.
Kenan Sofoglu’s wild card ride in Moto2 went well, running 2nd for most of the race before being shuffled back to his original starting position (4th) in a frantic run to the flag. Surely there’s a permanent ride in Moto2 just around the corner for the Turk.
After an up and down season, Aliex Espagaro, will relinquish his seat at PRAMAC and slip back to the Kalex team in Moto2.
On a personal note, I am continuing to make small improvements. The Physio team continues to torture me and are happy. I’m happy, too, though exhausted. Today they are removing the big cast on my right arm and replacing it with a lightweight fibreglass one. Then I’ll be able to lift my right arm and help myself more.
Here’s some fun. A Photoshop exercise based on the Tron Lightcycle.
