Went to the specialist yesterday afternoon to get the results of the MRI on my knee. As I knew, I have rutured the PCL in the knee, though nowhere near as badly as when I did the same in my right knee about 8 years ago (jogging accident). As well, I have chipped the top of the femur and the piece of bone, along with a lot of fluid, is floating around behind the kneecap. No wonder it’s still painful.
However, here’s the kicker. Since I don’t have private health insurance, I’ll have to bear the cost of the repair. Which, according to the lovely lady at the front desk, could be as much as $4000. Ouch. That’s nearly as eye-watering as the injury and subsequent pain it’s brought.
It will get better by itself eventually, and I’m thinking that that’s probably the path I’ll take.

Can’t you be put on the elective surgery waiting list? it will take a few months but at least it will be at no cost.
I’m on a 90 day waiting list now for total thyroid removal but knowing the state of public hospitals i’ll be lucky to have it done this year. But at least it will be done in time.
Better to wait for surgery than do nothing & possibly be in constant pain. [Just my opinion of coarse ]
Cheers

Yeah, somebody at school this morning said the same thing. I’ll have to investigate that. Thanks for the suggestion.
