The North West 200, the premier meeting in the Road Racing season in Ireland, takes place this weekend. BBC is prividing live streaming of practice, qualifying and racing over the next couple of days. Well worth looking at, the NW 200 is wickedly fast, terribly dangerous and separates the men from the boys like no other meeting can.
Follow this link to see Tuesday’s highlights. Thanks to my good friend, Taina, for bringing this to my attention. I love the sunset shot at the end of the video; very arty.

The current circuit is a lot less dangerous than it used to be. There have been quite a few chicanes put in to slow the bikes down since the tragic events of “black Saturday”.
Phil Hall says
Certainly. And there needed to be too. It was, of course, at the NW200 that Australia’s Warren Willing had the accident that ended his racing career and almost ended his life.
Vince says
Warrens accident was not life threatening. He crawled from the track by himself and was never unconscious. He was in danger of losing his leg but not his life.
Phil Hall says
True, but had he stayed in the middle of the track it could have been, and, apparently the marshalls didn’t do a great deal to help either. Thankfully things have improved considerably since then. Thanks for the input.
