….or, as my dad used to sometimes say, “Time wounds all heels.” He was a funny guy, was my dad.
I was never under any illusions that it would take some time to recover from my spill, but I guess I was hoping that the doctor might be being a little pessemistic saying 4 to six weeks. I am now coming around to his way of thinking. While the level of pain is subsiding and I am finding myself able to do more things, any semblance of normality still seems a long way off. Sleep is still only achievavble with pain killers and sleeping tablets and even then it’s patchy, and the days are long and boring. I guess you can deduce that from the fact that I haven’t even posted here for a few days. Still, we hang in there, I guess.
The bike is presently on a trailer heading for Canberra and the excellent Redback Racepaint. Hopefully Paul will find it’s repairable more easily that I would have guessed, being no expert in the area. He leaves for O/S later this month, so I hope he can get it done before he goes.
All of this has placed my round-Australia jaunt in considerable doubt and I’m thinking at this stage that it will probably have to be postponed until 2011. Oh well, take it on the chin, I suppose.
In the real world, Moto2 Testing wound up at Jerez yesterday with the bikes being quicker, but still well down on 250GP times from the time that they raced there last. Apologists are saying that it won’t really matter if the bikes are slower than the 250’s for the first season or so as long as the racing is close. I’m not convinced that any formula whose primary goal is to save costs has the potential to prosper like an unfettered one can. Time will tell, I guess.

Hi,
Yes i know what you mean about long boring days,i too am house bound due to a short stay in hospital & it’s driving me crazy.
Hope your back on you bike shortly & zipping up & down the Pass.
Regarding the GP’s there’s no way i’ll watch them live on Channel 10 complete with adds/news/weather breaks.
I’ll download them the next day & watch all the action uninterrupted & with much better pommy commentators.
At least SBK is still on fox & its a great coverage sooner they get the GP’s back the better.
