I’m a bit like a kid with a new toy. My 4-day tour looks like becoming a 5-day tour instead, whoohoo. As noted in “Decisions, decisions” I was in a quandry as to where to spend 5 days of freedom, but the idea of spending most of it with my eyes glued to the speedo in case I went 3km/h over the limit has effectively ruled a Victorian adventure out of the running.
So, sniff, it looks like the North coast again. And it looks like some friends who have time off and share my passion for touring might be joining me. Now isn’t that just brilliant? I have 2 new tyres, I’ll have a new DID chain by the weekend and Sunday morning I should be outa here.
Could it be that I’m excited?
I will certainly NOT be staying at the Australia Hotel at Grafton, though I WILL be having a meal at the Thai restaurant at the back of the bowling club, overlooking the Clarence River.
I haven’t bought another disk lock, so THIS isn’t going to happen again..
And I definitely will be stopping HERE..
Apart from that, I think you get the picture.

Thanks, mate, I sure intend to do so. The disk lock? Oh dear. About 2 nano-seconds after locking it in the back yard of the hotel at Walcha I realised that the key was hanging on the fridge at home, 700kms away! the publican was very understanding (after he stopped laughing) and he lent me his cutting-off wheel the next morning so that I could get back on the road. Not one of my brighter efforts, I’m afraid.
