A member of one of the motorcycle forums that I inhabit made up this interactive graph of cumulative points for the MotoGp class this year. If you click on each rider’s name, you can see how their season progressed.
And, speaking of the Aprilia Factory, I followed the same bike along the flat at the bottom of the Pass this afternoon. It sounded just as intoxicating as it sounded yesterday afternoon flying past the Pie Shop. He was travelling in company with a standard RSV4 and the difference in exhaust note was noticeable.

Speaking of the Pie Shop do the cops ever pull up & check the bikes for non compliant exhaust
systems?
I just had a pink slip done on my Triumph & the guy told me without the correct approval numbers stamped on the mufflers it would have been a fail.Every other past year this was never checked & i have been going to the same guy for over 20 years.Mine passed b.t.w as my bike is totally stock.
Mind you i have no idea how most Harleys pass any noise test, must be some bribery going on..LOL
Those Aprilla’s you have seen would have been a great sight & sound as they do look very trick .
cheers

I have never ever been pulled over for any sort of check and that includes the bad old days going to Bathurst when the police would wait on the outskirts of town and pull up everyone they felt like pulling over. I’ve never been licence-checked, muffler-checked, any of that. The only time I’ve ever been pulled over was for RBT.
Your mate is telling you porkie pies. The EPA pulled the anti-noise legislation on bikes a couple of years ago because it was unenforceable. You don’t have to have the magic label and you can’t be pulled over for making excessive noise, hence the proliferation of ear-bleedingly loud Harleys.

So you never got searched at Bathurst? I did one year & it was most unpleasent. I even got booked many years ago when we still had paper licenses,i used to get pulled over almost every weekend & the license was so badly creased that it fell apart & i got booked for it.
Up until 1981 [ i remember the date because of a bad m/cycle accident i suffered] i must have been booked dozens of times for stupid things.Since 81′ i have had a clean license though.I guess i grew up .
Sure about you can’t be booked for excessive noise? if so i pull the baffles out & and annoy the neighbors ..lol

Nope, never.
As for the excessive noise thing, it seems that you CAN be pulled over for it, but not BOOKED for it, as the police have no legally certain way of actually measuring what the noise level is.
