Friday and Free Practice day is under way at Phillip Island. Despite a low-speed tumble at T4, Casey Stoner has headed the timesheets for the first session. Better late than never here’s motogp.com’s statistical analysis for the meeting.
All the numbers ahead of Phillip Island.
Overnight the PRAMAC team confirmed that Damian Cudlin’s crash at Motegi was not caused by rider error, but by a leaking hose in the engine bay that sprayed water onto the front tyre. No doubt this will be a great consolation to Damian as he heads out on his second MotoGp expedition on the Mapfre Ducati today. Incidentally, it didn’t escape my notice that, both last weekend and this one, Damian is running the #6 on his bike, the same number usually worn with such distinction by the late Kenny Blake. Let’s hope that it could be an omen of sorts.
In Moto2 this morning, Stefan Bradl hit back hard with fastest time while championship leader, Marc Marquez crashed twice. Anthony West was 7th fastest in FP1!!
This item was posted on Facebook yesterday and I had to share it. A group of English friends riding their bikes around Europe and only having one flat tyre during the trip. Nothing amazing about that, you might think, but how about if I told you that it all took place in 1953!!! And, while you wander through this wonderful article, prepare to be stunned by some of the best, high quality black and white pictures that I have seen in years!!
I try to avoid posting up For Sales on my site, mostly because, by the time you’ve read them the item will have already been sold. But I think I’m safe with this one.
And, since we’re on the subject of insane conversions..
As usual, the weather is patchy at PI; take your swimmers and a parka is usually the best advice.
