The funeral of the late Ken Wootton will take place next Monday 15th August. Full details are below.

We have chosen this location for many reasons including Ken’s incredible love, passion and commitment to Australian motorcycle racing and to the Victorian seaside circuit.
Suite 5 is the location of the annual Island Classic Dinners that Ken hosted with such good humour and enthusiasm; is above the pit straight – the scene of so many race starts that Ken called so dramatically for more than 20 years; and overlooks the Expo Building where the Motorcycle Expo is staged – an initiative that Ken worked tirelessly to promote to our industry and the public.
Suite 5 is also the media centre and journalist hub for the Australian MotoGP – an appropriate place for us to remember Ken, who was without doubt, the leader of the Australian motorcycle media pack.
We hope you can join us on this special occasion to celebrate the life of Ken Wootton.

And speaking of funerals it seems that I am starting to attend way too many of them. Today I went to Canberra to farewell my wonderful friend, Tibor Binder. The service was well attended and many kind and glowing things were said about Tibor. A 500km drive in the day, but worth it all to be able to be there.
