I knew that I had more negatives somewhere but I couldn’t find them. Today, while looking for something else, a whole box full of them turned up so I’m back to scanning and publishing again. Whohoo!
And, speaking of photography, today I had a friend request on Facebook from a mate who I haven’t seen for 30 years. Len was a rep in those days for a large confectionery company and he took road racing photos as a hobby. We went to many race meetings together and swapped tips and techniques as well. Today Len lives in Qld and is a professional photographer. It sure is a small world. I’m looking forward to chatting with him in more detail.
I also had a small win today with a mate on my local motorcycle forum offering an almost-new air compressor for sale. He has found that he needs a bigger one and I was in the right position at the right time. A win-win situation.
The Silverstone round of the WSBK last night had no real surprises. Carlos Checa on the “works” (Oh, sorry, it’s not a factory bike is it? Ducati aren’t running a factory team this year, are they?) Ducati won both races, scoring Ducati’s 300th win in WSBK in the process. I know I’ve harped about it before, but it burns me something fierce the hypocrisy with which Ducati treat this championship. The regulations have been framed to suit them from Day 1 and they have the effrontery to withdraw from the championship this year because the current regulations favour the Japanese bikes. Hullo, that’s what you’ve been enjoying for 30 years nearly. And it’s easy to see how uncompetitive the Ducati is when Checa’s wins last night take him to TEN so far this season. *gets down off soap box*
Waiting now on a rear drum brake hub for the Shadowfax and then both wheels and hubs can be shipped off and be re-laced with new spokes. Once my swingarm comes back I will actually have a rolling chassis, so exciting.
