Hi fellow readers,
Yesterday (Monday 18th October), Phil was riding his VFR750 from his home in Southern Wollongong, NSW, Australia, up the Macquarie Pass to Robertson for a spot of lunch with another riding colleague .
Somewhere in the journey, there was a collision between the VFR750 and a cement truck. Phil came off second best and was hurt with a number of injuries, mainly breaks to his right side; a broken shoulder, wrist, hip, leg and knee. He was airlifted to St George Hospital in Kogarah, Sydney.
Today Phil had six hours of surgery to fix the breaks.
So far everything has gone well, the doctors are pleased with the result and Phil has been speaking to his family. Phil will be in hospital for the next few weeks where he will more than likely be transferred to Wollongong Hospital.
As you can imagine the family is somewhat traumatised by the accident so please be thinking of his wife and children.
We will keep you up to date with his progress, however, knowing Phil, he will find a way to update this site as soon as he gets the chance.
If you would like to leave a message for Phil, feel free to leave a reply on the bottom of this message, he would really appreciate it and we will make sure he gets the message.
By the way – the VFR750, no prizes for guessing what happened to it.
Thanks to Natalie, Phil’s daughter, for providing the details for this message.
