Over the weekend at least one World Championship was decided. Despite what he would regard as being mediocre performances, Max Biaggi clinched his first title since moving from MotoGP a few years ago. The Roman Emperor becomes the only (I think) rider to win the WSBK title and multiple titles in the Grand oprix arena as well.
Supersport SHOULD have been decided as well, except for a brain-dead move by Laverty on the last corner bringing both he and Sofoglu down. Kenan leads by 16 points going in to the final round at Magny Cours, so, even if Laverty wins, all Kenan has to do is finish around 10th to clinch his 2nd title.
Leon Haslam’s title chase ended with a brain snap in Race 1 and a blown-up engine in Race 2. The team afterwards announced that Haslam has been released from his contract due to Suzuki’s continued reluctance to confirm plans for 2011. It shouldn’t worry Leon too much as the rumours already have him signed and sealed at BMW next year.
In the BSB, some good placings from Josh Brookes at Silverstone has seen him move back into 2nd place behind leader, Tommy Hill. With one meeting and 3 races left in the season, Josh is only 11 points behind and could still pinch the title.
