Did a leisurely 400km ride today, my first “big” ride since the accident. The Gong to Richmond for a meeting with the editor of “Old Bike Australasia”, then up the Bells to Kurmond, across the Blaxland Range Road to the Putty and then north to Colo Heights. We stopped at the cafe there and a few riders there who’d just ridden down from the north said that there were two car accidents further up the road and that the place was swarming with police, so we cried off, headed back down to Windsor, down the Northern Road to Badgery’s Creek, Elizabeth Drive into Liverpool and a quick squizz at MCAS and then down the Heathcote Road and home.
The knee gave me no issues at all; I even started hanging off in the some of the corners without a problem and my confidence improved markedly as the ride went on.
Weather was great and no dramas. It doesn’t get much better.
