After tonight’s Czech Grand Prix, Valentino Rossi’s press people will announce what we have already known for months; that he is heading to Ducati in 2011. Rossi made it clear in a candid interview last night that he wouldn’t be saying anything, nor answering questions! He did, however say that, “making this year’s decision was much easier than leaving Honda at the end of 2003.”
Do not expect, however, any announcement about the future of Jeremy Burgess. He has also made it clear that no announcement about his future is going to be made until the season is over. So, the speculation looks set to continue.
Lorenzo, Rossi and Hayden all had big “offs” in Qualifying last night but Pedrosa topped the chart. Tomizawa took pole in Moto2 and Bradley Smith got his first pole for 2010 in the 125’s. In a hectic MotoGP session, Hayden broke a finger but will race. Bautista, despite initial concerns about a T1 spinal injury from his fall in FP2, has been cleared, and will race also.
I’ve been trying to find a picture of Jorge Lorenzo’s engine blow-up at the Sachsenring. This is the best that I’ve been able to find.
Not pretty.
This, on the other hand, most certainly is. One of the Bluesens Team Moto2 riders auditioning for next year’s X Games.
Roll on tonight.
