The moment that has thrown the MotoGp world into confusion. According to the Yamaha team boss, they wouldn’t replace Rossi at all if it weren’t for the fact that they are contracturally obliged to do so (see my comment above about the 17 riders rule)
The team boss also said that they have 2 test riders but they don’t want to use them because they are too slow…..well, d’uh, shouldn’t your test riders be FAST????
Another Japanese rider in the frame is Yuki Takahashi, A contracted Yamaha rider, presently riding for the Tech 3 team in Moto2 would seem to be the best fit. NB: My information in the above post about Tomizawa is incorrect. It was Takahashi who was replaced at Team Scot by Gabor Talmasci.
