Nico Terol’s win in the 125cc Grand Prix at Qatar last month has meant that Aprilia has pulled level with MV Agusta in the number of Grands Prix won over all classes. Only Honda and Yamaha have won more than the 2 Italian manufacturers. With the demise of the 250cc class, it may take Aprilia a little longer to catch up to either of them, though.
Here’s the all-time list.
Grand prix race wins by manufacturer:
1. Honda: 630 55 (MotoGP) 156 (500) 35 (350) 207 (250) 164 (125) 13 (50)
2. Yamaha: 451 52 (MotoGP) 120 (500) 67 (350) 165 (250) 47 (125)
3. MV-Agusta: 275 139 (500) 76 (350) 26 (250) 34 (125)
4. Aprilia: 275 143 (250) 132 (125)
5. Suzuki: 155 1 (MotoGP) 89 (500) 35 (125) 30 (50)
6. Derbi: 93 1 (250) 50 (125) 25 (80) 17 (50)
7. Kawasaki: 85 2 (500) 28 (350) 45 (250) 10 (125)
8. Kreidler: 71 71 (50)
9. Gilera: 59 35 (500) 4 (250) 12 (250) 8 (125)
10. Garelli: 51 44 (125) 7 (50)
Grand Prix philistines who insist that only the premier class (500cc/MotoGp) matters won’t like these stats, but numbers are numbers.
