News in late last night that the MotoGp meeting at Japan’s Motegi circuit next weekend is going to be cancelled due to widespread disruption of airline services. The volcanic eruption in Iceland has thrown air travel into complete chaos and there is now considerable doubt that the teams and officials will be able to get to Japan in order to stage the meeting.
The round has been re-scheduled for the weekend of October the 3rd, slotted in between the Spanish round at the new Aragon circuit on the 19th September and the Malaysian round at Sepang on the 10th October, just a week after Motegi.
Teams will now be frantically scrabbling for airline and transport bookings and adjusting their schedules accordingly.
This has NOT been officially confirmed, but it is widely regarded as a certainty. Watch this space.
Oh, and if you want a giggle, here’s a fabulous Riles and Nelson picture from the weekend’s AMA round at Road Atlanta. I’m sure that many of us can identify with this scene.
“Honey, you only have to SAY that you don’t want to kiss me!”
