This Tuesday, the 9th of June, marks the 28th anniversary of the death of one of Australia’s most beloved motorcycle road racers, Kenny Blake. Ken was killed in an accident during the Senior TT on the Isle of Man.
His death was a massive blow to the motorcycling community and to his many friends and acquaintances.
I know that friends of Kenny usually gather in a hotel in Melbourne somewhere to commemorate his life and death, though I can’t remember which one it is.
Jim Scaysbrook did a wonderful article on Kenny in issue #2 of Old Bikes Australia, it may still be available on back-order.
For those who want to explore the subject more, can I direct you to my memorial web site, www.halltech.com.au/kennyb Please note that the email address on the front page is incorrect. If you do wish to contact me about Ken, please message me and I’ll give you my current email address.
Farewell, Kenny, you are not forgotten.
