Thanks to Ross Hannan, builder of Graeme Crosby’s Kawasaki superbike and inveterate collector of motorcycling history photos and videos, I bring you this fantastic video tribute to Britain’s multiple World Champion, Phil Read.
You’ll need to set aside some time to watch it as it takes over an hour, but it is SO worth watching. Interviews with the man himself and with many of his peers, Geoff Duke, etc plus some unbelievably good black and white and colour racing footage from the 1960’s, featuring Ralph Bryans, Mike Hailwood, Bill Ivy, Giacomo Agostini and so on and so on.
To watch, click on this link, then sit back and enjoy.
And, on the subject of videos, Honda continue to tease us with a graduated release of information concerning its Moto3 machine. First some blurry images of a prototype NRS250 and now a video of the bike on test. Already it looks and sounds the goods.
While we’re on the subject of interesting links, a good mate and motorcycling compadre posted this link on his FB page this morning. It’s a little more serious read than usual postings here, but, he’s a fairly serious guy. I do recommend it, it raises some very important issues. LINK TO SMH ARTICLE.
