It’s certainly interesting times. The second MotoGp Qatar Test has just been completed with times (not that I ever place too much faith in them) showing pretty much what we should have suspected. The Yamahas have been all around the top spots just as they usually are on race weekends and the Ducatis have also been fast, Australia’s Jack Miller topping the charts on Day 3.
Speculation is mounting that Marc Marquez is on the entry list for Race 1 and he is quoted as saying that he is going to tr and race. Skeptics say it’s all Repsol hype and that he can’t be fit yet, but it’s always dangerous to vote against the #93. One of the worst things you can say is , “You can’t do that.”
In the mean time I am sidelined with an injury of my own. A very minor fall has seen me with an undisplaced fracture of the top of the humerus in my left arm. Surgery is not required but six weeks in a sling while it heals naturally will be a right royal pain (and, yes, it is extremely painful). The older you get, the longer minor bumps take to heal. Even the simplest tasks are difficult if not impossible and that includes sleeping, damn. Typing like I am doing now requires taking the sling off which I am not supposed to be doing.
I’ve had lots of correspondence with Kent about the Shadowfax and some more photos have surfaced which I will publish when I have been able to scan them. Amazing that new stuff is coming out 40 years after the event. Suffice it to say that I am going to have to rearrange with walls space in my office to accommodate some more great shots.
That will have to do, I’ll try and get on again and update more often. Just to keep things going, though, here’s another photo from 40 years ago. So glad that I got to be there.
