We went to Walmart today. VERY disappointing. Everyone seemed amazingly normal. π
Later this evening we went across the road to explore the shops and, just as we were leaving, a big guy on a black Hayabusa pulled up at the ATM. He wasn’t wearing a helmet which I thought was strange but it soon emerged that he was part of a large group of motorcyclists who were gathering on the other side of the car park. We started chatting (as you do) and he introduced himself. His name is Antoine and he is youth pastor at a local church. A 2007 model, the last of the unrestricted models which has been heavily modified, the bike is bored out to 1400cc and is capable of 220 mph (338km/h)
The group does a regular Thursday night ride of around 160km and usually numbers 200 riders. Mostly sports bikes but a real mixture, Gold Wings and Harleys even.
We wandered over and chatted with the guys and gals and they were a real friendly bunch (as motorcyclists always are)
My apologies for the quality of the photos, it was almost dark. Wish I had a bike π
Tomorrow we are going down to the harbour to see the USS Midway. As a WWII tragic I am so looking forward to that.
