Today somebody posted this link on Facebook. It features British rider, Steve Plater doing a complete lap of the Isle of Man TT course from a very good quality camera. Now I have seen onboards before, most notably the Joey Dunlop one done years ago, “V for Victory”. This video is something else again and I do encourage you to watch it from beginning to end. Apart from the amazing impression of speed it conveys it also illustrates how fiendishly complex the mountain course is and how hard it must be to learn it. It also shows the ferocious toll that it takes of machinery with miles and miles of the course being negotiated with the bike tapped out in top gear, no wonder they break down sometimes.
I am busy preparing my stuff for the opening round of the WSBK at Phillip Island in a couple of weeks where I hope to be able to again bring lots of pictures and interviews as well using my press accreditation to get me into the paddock and close to the action.
A couple of weeks ago my son bought a new computer. He was so happy with it that he wrote to the manufacturer and said how pleased he was with its performance and features. Amazingly, he received a reply with a promise of some “goodies” as a thank you for providing positive feedback. These he has kindly passed on to me to distribute as I see fit. So, keep an eye out for some little competitions coming up soon where you can win a small prize just for providing some feedback of your own. Not set in stone yet so that is all I can say. 🙂
In the mean time, life continues its busy round. I travelled to Goulburn last Saturday night to commentate the speedway there and this weekend I have my regular gig at Nowra Speedway as well.
Oh, and speaking of WSBK and Phillip Island, I have three spaces still available in the house that I am renting in Cowes for that weekend. If you’re going to the races and need somewhere to stay, let me know and we can discuss details.

Having just watched Closer to the Edge it occured to me that much of the track(road) is not fenced do they not have amimals that wander onto the road during the TT even a local cat could cause a hellish accident

Yes, and roaming livestock has always been a problem. It occurs to me that there have been less reports about this in recent years so maybe the local authorities have taken steps to somehow reduce the problem. In any event, these guys are real supermen in my opinion.
