While some may think that my enforced convalescence means that every day seems like a weekend, in fact this is not so. While I haven’t had any work so far this term, I have been keeping myself busy around the house and especially around the garden trying to stay on top of the rampant weeds that have suddenly decided that it’s Spring. So the weekend, when my wife is home and ready to relax after a hard working week, is very much appreciated.
The Malaysian Grand Prix is on this weekend with live telecast on OneHD tomorrow afternoon as well as Qualifying this afternoon. As usual, ahead of the event, MotoGp.com’s resident statistician has collated all the numbers that matter.
Dani Pedrosa has been the pace-setter so far this weekend but FP3 saw the rest of the pack edge a lot closer. It should be a fascinating weekend’s motorcycling. As usual, the John Hopkins experiment has back-fired on Suzuki, the Anglo-American appearing to have re-broken his finger during the free practice sessions yesterday. Also out is Bradley Smith from the Moto2 event, breaking his collarbone in a wet-track crash yesterday. The organisers of the event have been fined by the FIM for failing to notify riders on the circuit that the track was wet, resulting in a 4-bike accident that also saw title hopeful Marc Marquez slightly injured.
Also overnight came the announcement that Crescent Suzuki, the British arm of Suzuki’s racing effort, will graduate to the WSBK next season, though no riders have been named at this stage.
Finally, you know I’m a sucker for 4th Gen Honda VFR’s (the 750 model that ran from 1994-97) so this little gem from someone else’s blog was too good to pass up.
