Today I got started on the restoration of the Shadowfax Kawasaki. I’m documenting the progress on the ksrc site, but also here as well, and you can follow it as it unfolds. I’ve created a new page for it and I’ll add detail as we go along. HERE’s the link to the new page.
In MotoGp last night an enthralling senior race with Dani Pedrosa showing that he is not only a great rider (we already knew that) but is also developing into a great RACER as well. His “stalk and pounce” on Lorenzo was definitely worth the price of admission. Marco Simoncelli proved that he still has a lot to learn about race-craft and Dovi’s last-gasp mugging of Rossi to secure 4th was brilliant.
In Moto2, the race did nothing to lessen the reputation that the class is getting of being a crash-fest looking for a place to happen, with Stefan Bradl keeping his cool to withstand the pressure (and watch two leaders crash in front of him) to hold out the “bridesmaid”, Julian Simon. Juki Takahashi’s emotional 3rd place was a great cameo to cap off an exciting race.
I didn’t stay up to watch the 125’s, but Terol made it three wins from 4 starts to get an early stranglehold on the championship.
