Whoohoo, went to the fracture clinic at the hospital. X-rays confirm that the bones ARE healing and that no movement of pins, plates, screws, has taken place. I now have permission to put full weight on the right leg and a referral to physio so that they can get me walking again. The doctor was amazed that I’m this far along when it’s only just gone 12 weeks since the accident. To say that I am chuffed would be an understatement. And, today, I received my first appointment at Physiotherapy which is next Wednesday. I have been warned that it’s going to be torture, but it has to be done and I’m not going to shrink back from it if it means that I’m going to make a full recovery.
And, from the collection of one of my Facebook friends, this superb picture of Wayne Gardner at the Australian Grand Prix, 1989. Isn’t it a cracker?

Nice photo there Phil.
I reckon the bikes looked much better then, rather than these things with stupid little tails on them now.
Maybe, I just show my age.

Yes, they look “unfinished” don’t they? In the same vein, have there ever been any uglier Formula One cars around than those doing the rounds at the moment?? Give me the purity of the Lotus 25 or the menace of the 72 any day.

Yes, todays F1 cars are so ugly, especially with those raised noses.
Personally, I like the look of the F1 cars from the 1990 to 1992 era. If you look at the Ferrari 642, McLaren MP4/ 6 or Williams FW14, they all looked great. Fat rear slicks, no extra fins on the body work.
And, they all had V10 or V12 motors that sounded great.
Now, they all look the same, sound the same.
Lotus 72 was nice, but, even they look weird now.
