After last weekend’s abortive attempts to get in a longer ride than just around the block, the weather, the alignment of the stars and the way I hold my mouth all appear much more propitious this weekend so it could actually happen. I have to visit Jim Scaysbrook this weekend to give him all the info I have about the Road Closure races in Canberra during the late ’70’s-early ’80s. I had the presence of mind at the time to corrall all the press clippings and programmes into one folder so he should have heaps more information than what he actually needs to compile the article.
So, as Jim lives northwards, it seems like an ideal opportunity to do the Putty on Saturday and take care of business at the same time.
On my shorter rides, my knee has held up well, so I’m hopeful it will endure a longer hit-out. Oh, and thanks to my good mate, CSBB for fixing my Ventura rails last night. You’re a champion, Steve.
