In other news, Hiroshi Aoyama has been cleared by medical staff and will race this weekend at Indianapolis. Talk is rife O/S today that Davide Brivio, Valentino Rossi’s Team Manager at Yamaha, is set to quit and take up a position involving rider management and promotion. While he may still work with Rossi at Ducati, he will do so as a personal employee of Rossi rather than as an employee of Ducati. So, while that seems settled, nobody knows yet what the other critical mamber of Rossi’s staff, Jeremy Burgess, is going to do. Despite the apparent success that seems to be coming their way this year, the wheels of Yamaha’s management side seem to be falling off somewhat.
In BSB, the final round of the “normal” season begins this weekend at Cadwell Park with the HM Plant Honda team pair of Brookes and Kiyonari leading the charge ahead of Susuki’s Tommy Hill. This weekend’s races will determing who will make up the final 6 riders who will contest the “Super Finals” The three named riders have already booked their places for the showdown. Go, Brooksey.
