Nobody can accuse Ducati of being mean-spirited, or of not finding every opportunity to make a buck (and, no, those two characteristics are not mutually-exclusive). Despite the fact that their star recruit, Casey Stoner, is leaving at the end of the season to go back to Honda, Ducati are producing a Casey Stoner Replica 1198S in honour of his time with the factory.
The very Australian colour scheme is a reminder of the special livery that Casey used at PI last year.
Now this isn’t strictly a factory effort, the job apparently being farmed out to Ducati Metz, a French dealership. But it has been done with factory blessing it seems and will be backed by the usual Ducati warranty.
