Just 22 days after suffering an horrific leg injury (already documented here), Randy de Puniet is back on the bike. No, I don’t mean the PUSH bike, he’s been doing that for a week or so. No, de Puniet had his first test on a motor bike yesterday at France’s Circuit d’ Arles. On a CBR1000RR Honda, de Puniet did about 22 laps and was satisfied with his times although he himself admitted that he is nowehere near 100% fit. Nevertheless, he is still targetting a return to racing this weekend at Brno. You want proof? Here’s proof.

In other MotoGP news, Rizla Suzuki boss, Paul Denning, has announced overnight that he is 100% certain that Suzuki WILL be on the grid for 2011 (although he can’t say what may happen after that). My guess is that Suzuki has sounded out DORNA with a view to pulling out at the end of this year and found out that the promoter was going to play hard-ball as it did when Kawasaki tried to bail at the end of 2008. Substantial financial penalties were threatened in that case as you will recall, so it looks like Suzuki will have to bite the bullet and condemn its riders to another 12 months of anonymity, circulating around at the back of the pack. I really can’t see how ANYONE is a winner from this fiasco.
As reported yesterday, Taree’s Damian Cudlin won the Supersport race at Assen on the weekend. Here’s a video of him winning one of the races in the IDM (German Superbike Championship). I hope you can understand German, though not being able to doesn’t stop you seeing how fine a form Damian is in at the moment.
