Yes, I know it’s hard to believe; it is for me too, but I got on the bike and rode today. I didn’t go very far, just out to Albion Park to see my grandson’s school athletics carnival, but I did get there and back by bike. It felt strange and a bit spooky, especially as my dodgy left knee restricts gear changing a little, and I just made it a habit to put my right foot down when I stopped and not the left which is the one I usually use.
But it was great to be mobile and, even though I forgot to wear my back protector and put in my ear plugs (out of the routine) I still got there and back safely and I’m grinning.
I even got a friendly parent at the carnival to take a few pictures just to prove that I actually got out on the bike.
I am grinning, you just can’t see it, really.

Always feels great to ride the bike after a long dry spell, you will keep smiling for quite a while yet i’m sure.
Once that troublesome knee is fixed up i’ll look forward to more touring stories very soon.
cheers
