Not really, but, since the VFR is now over the 100000 km mark, I’ve been thinking that freshen-up of the suspension certainly wouldn’t go astray. The bike still handles well and the suspension is still fairly compliant, but I know that, with new front springs, fork oil and a recondition of the back shock unit, it could do so much better.
So, with that in mind, I’m planning on killing two birds with the one stone and getting it done while it’s in Canberra. You see, right next door to Redback RacePaint, where my bike is getting its post-crash repair work done, is Suspension Smith, a specialised motorcycle suspension shop run by another old CRRC mate of mine, Laurie Smith.
I plant to get a quote from him while the bike is there, and, if it’s not too expensive, get him to do the work before I pick it up. I’ll let you know how it goes.
